Who We Are
Currently, this company is a one-man show, under-dog type of company. We hope to grow with our public as we try and help with various topics.
Our Origin
Edgar Sotelo Vidrio officially started Empirical Pocket Books in 2018 after a four and a half year long relationship consumed and twisted his love life. Edgar began by documenting all things he did, in the name of getting over the relationship, and later concluded on making a bullet point booklet out of it. After that initial booklet, he began to write more and more, and thus began the origins of this company.
Our Mission
“It’s through our hardships and struggles, that we develop strength. And with our newly developed strength and new found wisdom, we shall educate the masses.” That is the belief system behind this company, so much so that we chose the word Empirical to be apart of our name. Wisdom from experience.
We aspire to represent the disenfranchised, the underdog, and the lost person in a small town needing just a fragment of wisdom to move forward. We aim to educate our customers with booklets that deliver the absolute important bullet points. Trimming the abundance of word fluff, while delivering wisdom and simultaneously being entertaining, we believe we are the friend you’ve been waiting for.
Our Driving Force
The driving force behind our spirit, at Empirical Pocket Books, is the thought of a troubled person in a small town needing just a little bit of information to move onward. Whether that is getting over an ex, starting a business, or becoming healthy; we’ll have the booklet for you.
About Our Logo
After some extensive thinking and searching, Edgar came across a concept that fits what this company aspires to do. This company aims to help others in need, through experience, nothing in theory, but through hard earned wisdom.
The come-across concept was Kintsugi. A centuries-old practice where Japanese people would fix their broken pottery with special lacquer dusted with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. This practice would then give their once broken pottery a new face and story… and that is the concept behind our logo and name. The word empirical means wisdom through experience. The broken plate behind the name means the hardships that challenged and sometimes breaks us. The broken and then put back together fountain illustrates a wiser being pouring out its new wisdom to the all.
Next Steps…
With the support of the public we hope to continue growing, offering more and more products with the years to come.
